  1. The Erie TV station described Mike Kelly's "moderate views." Is Kelly a moderate, in your opinion?

  2. In my opinion, Mike Kelly tries to be all things to all people. Some might call that a moderate. I would call that being a car salesman, but that is just my opinion.

  3. Kelly is a slice off the same old loaf of republican bread. We need something more flavorful to represent our way of life which is under attack.

  4. Good line. I like it! It can be used to describe a whole boat load of politicians that respresent the area. I'll be stealing that line and using it in a blog post near you!

All kidding aside, though, Kelly (like some of the other candidates) is just a little too slick and packaged for me. I don't want to feel like I'm being sold something. It is way too important.

  5. I missed the moderate part, was that a quote from Mr. Kelly? I didn't hear it from the interview. If he did say he was moderate was he refering to fiscal or social issues. I am a little confused on that point. Any help is appreciated. There seems to be little facts in this primary. I generally have a hard time deciding (except the democrat turned repubilcan is out) because they all are saying the same thing.

  6. Without watching the interview again, the summary of the interview (which is available from the link) states "Kelly admits running in a field of six has its drawbacks, but says in the end his moderate platform and business experience are a winning combination for the third district."

Just because he (or WJET) calls him a moderate doesn't mean anything, but if that was important to you then there you have it.

If you want more information about Mr. Kelly, I would suggest that you read the volumes of information on this site as well as accessing Mr. Kelly's site directly (there are links from each of the debate articles and each of the articles that compare the candidates).

I'll admit that Mr. Kelly has not provided a laundry list of items from his platform. I've met with all of the candidates many times. Fisher, Huber, Franz, Grabb, and even Moore have been particularly specific about issues. Mr. Kelly much less so.
