Mercer County PA TEA Party was a huge success

Written by Roberta Biros

The Mercer County TEA Party last year (July 4th) was amazing. The weather was perfect and the crowd was large. Today's TEA Party on the court house lawn had additional hurdles of threats of rain and chilly temperatures, but attendance was even higher than last year!

Estimates for attendance ranged around 750 (last year's estimates were about 500). The crowd was polite and orderly yet invigorated and motivated.

There were some folks that obviously didn't belong, but they were tolerated. I managed to snap a photo of one 'fake tea partier' at the event. The event planners had decided that we would highlight fake tea partiers with small signs and we'd attempt to document the intruders with cell phone cameras. The example below was actually a two-for-one special. It exposed the obvious fake tea partier in the center of the photo, but it also exposed the yard sign for another fake tea partier (that was also in attendance) in the bottom left hand corner of the photo. In a single word, "Priceless".

I'd like to caption the above photo as "where is The Herald when you need them?"

Mark your calendars now, as the next TEA Party in Mercer County is scheduled for July 3rd . . . rain or shine!

  1. Yes it was a great event Blogmaster Roberta! Unfourtunately, there was not any teabagging going on! :-(

Grabb, Kelly, and Fisher were the best speakers of the 3rd Congressional District Candidates.
Franz stumbled some words, Huber put me to sleep, and Moore could only seem to keep chanting ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

It was funny seeing Coconut "I'll vote myself a pay raise at midnight" Bob Robbins trying to pretend to be a Tea Partier! Like he ever cared about out of control government spending.

Now for the big question. Where was Kathy Dahlkemper and her opponent Marion?

  2. Coconut Bob showing up all "rah rah" for the tea party is a joke, but I don't think he pulled the wool over anyones' eyes.

Dahlkemper and Mel Maron would stay away from the event in fear for their lives. It sure wasn't their crowd . . . especially Kathy D!

Can you imagine if she had showed up to speak? THAT would have been BIG NEWS!

  3. The TEA Party was a good event.

Personally thought Huber spoke to his plan, Kelly spoke like Pres. Obama all talk and promises (a salesman). Fisher, Kelly, Fisher have nothing to say that they can qualify and Moore. I agree with the Enough is Enough.

Also not impressed by anyone who claims they are a lifelong any party member. That says that they cannot stand on their own two feet but vote party only.

I'm curious why the tea baggers don't dress up as Indians? The original Boston tax evaders were brave enough to do this. Where were all these deficit busters when W went to war, gave a tax cut to the top 2%, and went crazy sending on the military?
It seems to me that this is nothing more the the John Birch Society repackaged.
Let's hope Palin runs in 2010. She'll be the best thing that happens to the Dems since Barry Goldwater. ROTFLMAO

  5. Dear "Hooked on phonics for Palin 2010":

    We all get it . . . you are anti-Tea Party, you are anti-Bush . . . you are anti-Palin.

Are you sure your name isn't "Bob Lark"?

Oh, that's right . . . Bob Lark doesn't own a computer (or an answering machine, a cell phone, or indoor plumbing). Sorry.
    ;-)

  7. To Anonymous:

I couldn't really say since I only moved here in January of 2006, but thanks for the comment . . . I guess.

I see that you now live up in Cleveland? I also see that you spent 50 minutes here on your last visit. You hate this forum so much, but you can't seem to stay away?

  8. WE NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE - a large group of us from PA are waging a "write-in" campaign for Samuel E. Rohrer for Governor. "We The People" of PA can select better leaders for ourselves - ones that mirror our own principles and values, leaders that will stand up for us and not side with special interests. We need to restore integrity and honesty to Harrisburg and we can do this with a write-in for “Samuel E. Rohrer, Berks County”. On November 2, 2010 our voices WILL BE HEARD.

We invite you to go to www.SamRohrerWriteInVideos.org and listen to Sam for yourself. Pennsylvania is on fire with the message of this remarkable Representative from Berks County. He is a true statesman and we have the ability to get him into the governor’s office and restore integrity and honesty to Harrisburg.

Sam legally cannot run as an independent because Pennsylvania has a “sore-loser law” that prevents someone who lost in a party primary from running in the general election. Sam has chosen to remain neutral on commenting on the write-in until “We The People” of Pennsylvania can show him that this campaign has “grown legs”. Come on folks – wake up – let’s show Sam we want him to be our next Governor.

If you are tired of voting for the lesser of two evils, which is still voting for evil, please go to www.PatriotsForSamRohrer.org and sign up to volunteer and become a part of this movement in history. This is where we will be conducting business on how to help with the "write-in". Be sure not to miss out on anything and become involved now by signing up - it's free and we have nothing to lose and EVERYTHING to gain.

    Let's Make History Together!
